Jean Nouvel uzsāka JND (Jean
Nouvel Design) 1995. gadā, lai sadarbotos ar arhitektūras kompāniju (Ateliers
Jean Nouvel) ar tās specifiskajām dizaina aktivitātēm. Jean Nouvel Designs
sastāv no multidisciplināras grupas, kas darbojas gan interjera dizaina jomā,
gan scenogrāfijas jomā, gan vizuālajās komunikācijās. Kopš savas dibināšanas
Jean Nouvel Design ir attīstījuši un izveidojuši vairāk nekā simtiem objektu un
mēbeļu.
Man vienmēr ir patikusi, Jean Nouvel saka, ideja par kaut ko, kas var pārvērsties par vēl ko citu; 1=2 galds, kuru
pirms pāris gadiem izlaida Zeritalia un kuru šodien no jauna piedāvā Cassina,
radās no vienkāršas idejas: tev ir divi sakraujami galdi: ja tu izmaini kāju
augstumu un tu pacelt vienu no galdiem, lai abus savienotu, rezultātā
izveidojas viens liels galds! Šī ir centrālā ideja: izveidot vairākas lietas,
sākot no vienas; uztvert dažādas dimensijas un piedāvāt dažādus pielietojumus.
1=2 klāsts balstās sistēmā, kurā
divi sakraujami galdi nodrošina automātisku nolīmeņošanos, kad tie tiek
savienoti. Klāsts piedāvā galdus un konsoles mājām vai birojiem. Sākotnēji 1=2
ģimene tika veidota no 12 mm bieza norūdīta stikla, bet šodien tā ir pieejama
15 mm biezumā, kā arī dažādās krāsās. Kājas ir veidotas no noslīpēta nerūsējošā
tērauda un ir piestiprinātas pie stikla virsmas ar optisko piesaisti.

Jean Nouvel’s work is inscribed

Urbanologist and architect, Jean Nouvel is also a designer but he rejects
categories:
I do not make any difference between when I draw a chair and when I
think about an
architecture; I think that every project is a plan of total design. For
every question made, I look for the “elementary” object, whose final shape
corresponds to the “essence” of the idea. A suitable, unique answer which can
testify our period and our civilization both culturally and technically.
Jean Nouvel created JND (Jean
Nouvel Design) in 1995, in order to cooperate with the AJN architecture company
(Ateliers Jean Nouvel), with its specific design activity. Jean Nouvel Design consists
of a multidisciplinary group which operates both in the field of interior
design, in scenography and in visual communication. Since its foundation, Jean
Nouvel Design has
developed and edited more than
hundreds of objects and furnitures.
I have always loved, Jean Nouvel states, the idea of something that can turn into
something else; the 1=2 table, which was launched by Zeritalia a few
years ago and which Cassina re-edits today, was created from a simple idea: you
have two small stacking tables: if you change the height of the feet, when you
lift one of the tables up in order to flank it to the other, the result is a
big table! This is the central idea: doing several things starting from only
one; perceiving different dimensions and offering different uses
.
The 1=2 range is based on a
system of two stacking tables that ensure an automatic
leveling when they are pulled
together. The range includes tables and consoles for a
domestic use or for the office.
Initially realized in a 12 millimeters toughened glass,
nowadays the 1=2 family is
realized in a 15 millimeters toughened glass and in several colours. The feet,
which integrate unidirectional castors, are made of brushed stainless steel and
are fixed to the glass surface with an optical bonding.
