The Eclipse lamp by the Brazilian designer Mauricio Klabin is a
fascinating achievement in design.
Its shade is fabricated from a sinlge
ribbon-like strip of plastic that canbe adjusted to change shape and throw
light in different directions.
The metal frame has small, movable, stabilizing
rings that allow the lamp to rest in many positions, or can be removed completely to transform it
into a hanging lamp. The company Objekto offers this intriguing lamp , which
can also be seen at the MOMA in New York.
