Atvadāmies no Hans J. Wegner izstādes

No 15. jūnija līdz 14. jūlijam xcelsior jaunajā dizaina centrā Raņķa dambī 1 bija iespējams aplūkot izcilā dāņu dizainera Hans J. Wegner krēslu izstādi THE CHAIR. Par dāņu stila izveidotāju un krēsla meistaru dēvētā dizainera izstāde tapa sadarbībā ar dāņu mēbeļu darbnīcu PP Møbler, kuras pārstāvji izstādes atklāšanā arī iepazīstināja viesus un interesentus ar mēbeļu ražošanas aizkulisēm, kā arī demonstrēja to, kā savus krēslus apstrādā ar ziepēm, tādējādi saglabājot koksnes tīro un gaišo krāsu. 

Šī bija lielākā Hans J. Wegner izstāde Latvijā, un tās koncepts bija parādīt dizainera mūža darbu un galveno uzdevumu - perfektā krēsla radīšanu. 

Paralēli Latvijas publika arī tika iepazīstināta ar ģimenes uzņēmumu PP Møbler, kura veiksmīgā darbība un apbrīnojamā rūpība var kalpot par iedvesmu vietējiem mēbeļu ražotājiem. 

Izstādē bija redzami tādi slaveni Wegner darbi kā The Peacock Chair, The Teddy Bear Chair, kā arī lakoniski dēvētais The Chair, kurā sēdēja gan Džons F. Kenedijs, gan Ričards Niksons savā pirmajā televīzijas debatē.

From 15th of June till 14th of July exhibition THE CHAIR by the brilliant Danish designer Hans J. Wegner could be seen at the new xcelsior design center in Raņķa dambis 1. The exhibition by the so-called creator of the Danish style and master of the chair was created together with the Danish furniture workshop PP Møbler. At the opening of the exhibition the representatives from the company also introduced the guests with the backstage of furniture production and also demonstrated the soap treatment of their chairs, which conserves the light and clean colour of wood.

This was the biggest Hans J. Wegner exhibition in Latvia and its concept was to illustrate the designer's life's work and main goal - to create the perfect chair.

At the same time the Latvian public was introduced to a family business PP Møbler whose success and remarkable attention to detail can serve as inspiration to the local furniture producers.

The exhibition features such famous works by Wegner as The Peacock Chair, The Teddy Bear Chair and also The Chair, which was used in the first televised debate between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon.
