representatives in the 13th International Architecture Exhibition Common Ground of the Venice Biennal!

Venēcijā notiks Latvijas ekspozīcijas Iekšējā
brīvība. Rīgas iela Venēcijā svinīgā atklāšana.
„Viena no Venēcijas pazīmēm ir
spoguļošanās. Pirmkārt – tās ūdeņos. Tur tā vispirms atspīd pati sevī. Taču
var iegūt arī dubulto atspulgu, kur Venēcijā iebraucis rīdzinieks atspīdumā
redz gan Venēcijas, gan Rīgas aprises, kas brīžiem saplūst neskaidrā, jaunā
identitātē, bet brīžiem – atsedz spožākos atmiņu kadrus ar konkrētām Rīgas
vietām, kas tuvas ikvienam rīdziniekam”. Tā avīzes Diena pielikuma Kultūras

Dienas speciālizlaidums Rīga Venēcijā
no 25. augusta ir pieejams bez maksas Rīga
2014 radoši informatīvajā telpā Esplanāde
2014. Šajā izdevumā iespējams izlasīt gan par Rīgas ielas Venēcijā saturu,
instalācijas idejisko pamatojumu, projekta realizāciju, kā arī radošās komandas
un ekspozīcijas goda komisāra Andra Kronberga viedokļus.
Other Side Studio un tās dibinātājs Helvijs Savickis, mākslas
zinātniece Ieva Kulakova, arhitekte Līga Apine, kā arī Andris Kronbergs veido
radošo komandu, kuri ir ienesuši Venēcijā ne tikai tēraudā iegravētus Rīgas arhitektūras
mirkļus, bet arī veltījumu Rīgas koka arhitektūrai un tās nozīmīgajam iespaidam
uz 2014. gada Eiropas kultūras galvaspilsētas koptēlu un dvēseli.
Arī xcelsior sveic Latvijas pārstāvjus ar veiksmīgi uzstādītu
ekspozīciju un vēlam veiksmi Venēcijas biennāles Starptautiskajā arhitektūras
izstādē, kas norisināsies no 29. augusta līdz 25. novembrim.

Today, on the 27th of August at
15.30 the official opening of the Latvian exhibition Inner Freedom. Riga Street in Venice will take place.
„One of Venice’s characteristics
is reflecting. First of all – in its waters. There it reflects, first of all,
in itself. But it can obtain a double reflection, where a Riga inhabitant that’s
visiting Venice can see in the reflection the outlines of both Venice and Riga,
which sometimes blend together in a blurry, new identity, but sometimes –
reveals the brightest episodes of memory with specific spots of Riga, dear to
every inhabitant of Riga.” Thus the curator of the Latvian exhibition explains
its idea to the special edition of the Kultūras
Diena appendix of the newspaper Diena.
This special edition of Kultūras Diena, devoted to the Latvian
exhibition in Venice Biennal, Riga in
Venice, is available for free from the 25th of August in the Riga 2014 creative-informative space Esplanāde 2014. This edition features information on the
content of Riga Street in Venice, the
main idea behind the installation, the project’s realization, as well as the
views of the creative team and the honorary comissar Andris Kronbergs.
Other Side Studio and its founder Helvijs Savickis, art historian
Ieva Kulakova, architect Līga Apine, as well as Andris Kronbergs shape the
creative team that has brought into Venice not only moments from Riga’s
architecture, engraved in steel, but also a dedication to Riga’s wooden
architecture and its strong impression on the image and soul of the 2014
European culture capital.
Thus xcelsior too congratulates the Latvian representatives with a succesfully
set exhibition and wishes the best of luck in the International Architecture
exhibition in the Venice Biennal that will take place from the 29th of August
to the 25th of November.
